Feeling the pull of resistance? You're not alone!

Resistance has been on my mind for a quite some time now and then the other day this appeared from Abraham Hicks.


Most rarely align with their true power, because it seems illogical to them that there is power in relaxation, in letting go, or in love or joy or bliss. Most people do not understand that their true power lies in releasing resistance—which is the only obstacle to their true power.


Most people do not expect their path to great abundance to be one of ease and of joy. They have been taught that struggle and hardship and sacrifice are requirements that must be met before the reward of great abundance can be realized. Most do not understand that the very struggle they deliberately involve themselves in, in their quest for success and advantage, actually works against them.


There are so many things that you have been taught to believe that are counter to the powerful Laws of the Universe that it is difficult for you to think your way out. And that is the reason that we present this path of much less resistance.


We want you to breathe rather than try, to relax rather than offer effort, to smile rather than struggle, to be rather than do. For your true power is experienced only from inside the Vortex.

I believe we can all say yes I do feel resistance or I have felt resistance, correct? So let’s look at the definition - Resistance - a situation in which people or organizations fight against something or refuse to accept or be changed by something (Google Webster Merriam definition).


So resistance is an inherent characteristic of change. It’s a psychological reaction and can also be a physiological reaction to change. I hope I am not the only one who has fought against change? I mean don’t we all have the best of intentions when it comes to say, starting or completing the online certification you purchased a year ago 😂. Yet I also feel some resistance to it, maybe the time it will take or maybe it’s simply out of your comfort zone. And I am sure I am not the only one who had physical issues because of this change, because change requires “extra” - extra effort, energy and maybe even brain power. Maybe this is why many of us are tired and lethargic. AND HELLO Procrastination and Distraction.⭐️


I am not going to go into the neuroscience behind it all but I encourage you to take a peek at it, it explains why we all naturally tend to resist change. Of course there are other factors that contribute to heightened levels of resistance like what else is happening when the change was introduced and how was it introduced. For example doing something to please someone else when you are not fully on board or making so many changes all at once to overwhelm or not realizing how hard change would be. I am sure we have all had someone else tell us they are making a change that directly affects us and felt the feelings immediately. ☹️


So what can we do? Expect resistance and plan for it. Try not to fight it and just accept it will happen. As they say, every experience can be learned from! There are going to be obstacles but go back to your why - why is this change important and what are the benefits. And get yourself some support so you do not need to do this alone. You all know I find that daily with my Polka Dot Powerhouse Sisters!! So grateful for that support to help me see, be aware and then do something about it.


This week I have been super focused and aware of resistance and when it comes up for me and been doing more of the breathe, relax, smile and be from the AH’s passage above and while its not always easy I have noticed that I have slept at night and somethings have happened more naturally for my benefit. ✨✨
