Embodying Change through Movement

In Septembers newsletter-blog I talked about some tips for Meditation. Well, later that month I did my first walking meditation. I know, how does that work?? So do you know Dr. Joe Dispenza? 🙋🏻‍♀️ I am a huge fan and hope some day to attend one of his retreats!! I digress….

On September 23rd he proposed to Walk for the World, Walk as It and so I joined in! Once I committed I went to his website and got the free download and thank goodness there was a pre-walk download to explain the what, why and how to make it a bit easier. I found the introduction really informative so I had an idea of it all, and learned it was a guided meditation (phew). There are 4 types of meditation - seated, lying down, standing and walking. This global meditation was to include both standing and walking. The standing portion is with your eyes closed with your hands over your heart. This walking portion was sort of in trance as your eyes are open - and walk "as it" to embody the energy of change. The change you wish to see in the world. For example if you wish the world to become more kind you need to become more kind. So the idea is to heal on a global scale but the current problems must be resolved from a greater level of consciousness - or unconsciousness - than the consciousness that created it.

It was an interesting first experience as I decided to walk in my neighborhood. So you can imagine we walking along (looking “normal) and then stopping on the side of the road while holding my heart with my eyes closed 🙄 I did it and I sensed some other walkers passing by me, along with some cars. I hope I created some interesting discussions!! I did have a sense energetically of something bigger than me and it sounds like there were thousands walking at the same time across the globe. A day after I happen to see an event on FB locally where they walked together, which would have been fun. I cannot specifically say what resulted from the walk but it felt good and in my book that’s enough.

This weekend on November 11 at 11:11 am ET Dr. Joe called for another Walk for the World and although I found out a day or so beforehand I decided I wished to participate again but this time doing it in the woods, where there were no cars and the potential for people to be far less. It was a gorgeous Fall day in New England and I felt so much more plugged in for this one. Less distraction and the experience of knowing what to expect. However the woods you cannot truly be in trance walking because you need to look down so you don’t trick on a tree root or slip on the wet leaves etc. I definitely think the next one will be a “charm", third times a charm! Any other recommendations please reach out to me!

This chant keeps playing in mind “Heal yourself, heal the world. Change yourself, change the world. Be the Change.".
